Making it your own

Blogging is an interesting way to share knowledge, interest, and opinions.  I’ve found that I tend to enjoy the blogs that are more “down to earth”. What I mean by this is, I enjoy reading something and feeling like I can relate to, or know the author. Instead of a boring page full of words, the author writes in a sense of how they would speak. I try to convey this into my own blog because I feel it really adds a personal touch. I think to make anything successful you really have to make it your own.  Also, I believe that by adding color, pictures, quotes, and real life experience, you allow the reader to relate. I also found that you really just need to find a blog that has to do with your interests or hobbies. When doing a class assignment, I had a chance to read blogs about college and the experience. While that was somewhat interesting, I found myself often wandering back onto the blogs of some of my favorite beauty “gurus”.  It may sound odd, but when you get to know me, you’d learn that I have a love for the beauty world. While most girls tend to love all things girly, I actually dedicate a part of my life to it. So it’s no surprise that when discovering young girls like me, I’d be drawn to their blogs. When starting my own blog I wanted it to be fun, as well as functional. I believe you should always add a personal touch on everything you do, but also keep it organized and easy to follow. I don’t enjoy clicking on a blog and finding a blank white background, as much as I hate clicking on one where the background distracts me from the text. Find something you like, and learn to incorporate it. As a new blogger, I don’t set very many goals for myself. All I hope to do is intrigue my readers, and help broaden their thoughts.
